{"id":117377,"date":"2020-09-04T13:47:45","date_gmt":"2020-09-04T13:47:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/?p=117377"},"modified":"2022-07-27T11:18:46","modified_gmt":"2022-07-27T11:18:46","slug":"c2c-provides-advice-to-help-returning-commuters-travel-with-confidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-provides-advice-to-help-returning-commuters-travel-with-confidence\/","title":{"rendered":"c2c provides advice to help returning commuters travel with confidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">c2c is providing commuters with a \u201ctravel with confidence\u201d checklist as more people are expected to resume travelling by rail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The helpful five-point guide is intended to reassure customers who have not travelled in the past six months by providing simple steps that they can take to be confident about their commute:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Travel using the c2c Smartcard<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\"> (or contactless payment within the London area), to eliminate any need to queue for tickets in the morning and reduce contact with other people<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Wear a face covering<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, unless you have a valid exemption in which case you can apply for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-launches-face-covering-exemption-badge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-launches-face-covering-exemption-badge\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1599313236773000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG_2xq3otCd5WqbbLx-QJRCIFYHgw\">one of c2c\u2019s free badges<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Travel at quieter times<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, with much more free space currently available on trains that arrive in central London after 07.30am<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Wash your hands before and after your journey<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, and you can take advantage of the free hand sanitiser we are providing at every station<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Keep apart<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">, by maintaining your distance from others onboard and heading for the back carriages of the train, where there tends to be more spare space<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">c2c has signed up to National Rail\u2019s UK-wide \u201cTravel Safe Pledge\u201d. This means we are maximising the space available by running every train as at least 8-carriages, and increasing cleaning levels at our trains and stations. We are also providing more information on which trains are busiest and what times are comparatively quiet, with information updated weekly at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/our-network\/timetable\/\">https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/our-network\/timetable\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: \u201cWe are seeing a slow but steady increase in passenger numbers, and we know the return of schools means more parents will resume commuting.
