{"id":190528,"date":"2023-01-20T13:00:20","date_gmt":"2023-01-20T13:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/?p=190528"},"modified":"2023-02-01T10:36:09","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T10:36:09","slug":"update-west-ham-lift-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/update-west-ham-lift-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Update: New project to upgrade West Ham lift"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">31 January 2023: Passengers are being advised that planned work to replace the lift on c2c platforms serving West Ham station have been rescheduled and will now start on Thursday 2 February.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once complete the condition and the reliability of the lift will be significantly improved at this key interchange between the National Rail Network and TfL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customers who need step-free access are strongly recommended to avoid using West Ham station while these works are taking place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Those needing to travel to West Ham are advised to use District Line services at Barking. Passengers travelling from Fenchurch Street should also travel to Barking and use the District Line service back to West Ham.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">c2c\u2019s Asset and Property Director, Ben Martin, said: \u201cThis investment into the lift at West Ham station will greatly improve reliability but we understand the upgrade will be disruptive to our customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI would urge anyone requiring step-free access at West Ham station, including carers with prams or buggies, to find an alternative route to the station until the works are completed in late Spring 2023.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are committed to creating an accessible railway, however during the West Ham lift works we strongly encourage customers to travel through Barking and Limehouse if they choose to pre-book their assistance with us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customers should call our passenger assistance team at 0345 744 4422 to discuss the alternative travel options or email <\/span><a href=\"mailto:passengerassistance@c2crail.co.uk\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">passengerassistance@c2crail.co.uk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for more information.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>31 January 2023: Passengers are being advised that planned work to replace the lift on c2c platforms serving West Ham station have been rescheduled and will now start on Thursday 2 February.
