[16 August 2023]<\/span><\/b>\u00a0East London and South Essex train operator, Trenitalia c2c, is pleased to announce a ban on e-scooters, e-unicycles, and e-hoverboards on its trains and stations, effective from 4 September.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"<\/p>\n

Prioritising safety and comfort, the ban aims to create a more pleasant and secure travel experience for all c2c customers and follows the introduction of similar bans on other UK train lines.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stuart Browning, c2c\u2019s Head of Safety & Environment, said, “Our customers’ safety is our top priority, which is why we have made the decision to ban e-scooters, e-unicycles, and e-hoverboards on our trains and stations. This measure ensures an enhanced travel experience, enabling our passengers to enjoy their journey comfortably and without any disruption.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis ban will bring numerous benefits to c2c\u2019s customers; by removing these potentially hazardous objects from trains and stations, passengers can feel reassured about their safety and avoid any inconvenience caused by their usage. This initiative will also contribute to a more harmonious atmosphere on all journeys.\u201d he added.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"<\/p>\n

The ban on electric personal mobility vehicles will help to support continued reliability of c2c\u2019s service and reduced delays due to incidents, with customer compliance being key in ensuring the effectiveness of the ban.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure widespread awareness ahead of the ban\u2019s introduction on 4 September, c2c is distributing updated signage and information materials across the network. Passengers are urged to familiarise themselves with these guidelines to help create a safer and more comfortable environment for everyone.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
