{"id":306647,"date":"2024-07-30T10:07:32","date_gmt":"2024-07-30T10:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/?p=306647"},"modified":"2024-07-30T10:07:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-30T10:07:32","slug":"c2c-celebrates-national-safe-stations-accreditation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-celebrates-national-safe-stations-accreditation\/","title":{"rendered":"c2c celebrates national safe stations accreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[30 July 2024] Local rail operator Trenitalia c2c is proud to announce that all 26 of its stations have been reaccredited under the UK Government\u2019s \u2018Secure Station Scheme.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-306666 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg-1024x533.jpg\" alt=\" 66a8bb3da685e 66a8bb3da685fsafe Stations Accreditation.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg-1024x533.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg-768x400.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg-1536x799.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/app\/uploads\/2024\/07\/66a8bb3da685e-66a8bb3da685fsafe-stations-accreditation.jpg.jpg 1843w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Every day our Revenue Protection and Security teams patrol the c2c network, ensuring customers have access to safe stations.<\/p>\n<p>The accreditation will last for the next two years, and follows an assessment by a British Transport Police assessor, based on the Secure Station Scheme\u2019s four accreditation criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Crime statistics for the 12 months prior to the assessment compared to the annual passenger footfall of that station.<\/li>\n<li>A survey of users taking account of passenger perceptions and the operator response to this.<\/li>\n<li>The operator\u2019s management practices must promote and conduct crime reduction and prevention measures, ensure appropriate responses to incidents, the safeguarding of vulnerable persons and effective communication with passengers.<\/li>\n<li>The design of the station must conform to standards which prevent and reduce crime and facilitate the safeguarding of vulnerable people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The nationwide scheme provides rail operators with the opportunity to demonstrate how they are proactively working within organisations and with partners to reduce crime, reacting to incidents, and how they are playing a greater role in safeguarding vulnerable people who might be at stations.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Department for Transport (DfT), the accredited station scheme provides, \u2018reassurance to both passengers and staff that the station is a safe and secure environment.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Head of Revenue Protection and Security at c2c, Iain Palmer, said, \u201cWe take the safety and security of our stations, passengers and staff very seriously, which is why we work tirelessly to ensure that we obtain these accreditations that showcase our commitment to our fundamental principles to our local communities and the wider public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so proud to receive our reaccreditation. c2c has been able to demonstrate that we respond proactively to crime trends, we have processes in place to tackle crime and disorder head on and it is thanks to our efforts across all grade groups that we have been able to achieve this re-accreditation.
