{"id":318818,"date":"2024-10-17T11:36:35","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T11:36:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/?p=318818"},"modified":"2024-10-17T14:45:18","modified_gmt":"2024-10-17T14:45:18","slug":"c2c-partners-with-essex-firefighters-in-visit-to-shoeburyness-depot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-partners-with-essex-firefighters-in-visit-to-shoeburyness-depot\/","title":{"rendered":"c2c partners with Essex firefighters in visit to Shoeburyness depot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>c2c welcomed the group from Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for the tour of its fleet on Friday, 11 October.<\/p>\n<p>Led by Simon Smith, one of c2c\u2019s most experienced operations trainers, it was designed to give the team from Basildon Watch detailed insight into the layout of both the Class 357 and Class 720 trains, to ensure the service has a good understanding of the trains in case of an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>Simon, who has worked at c2c for 20 years and is a subject matter expert in operations training, said, \u201cSadly, emergencies can happen on the railway and this was an opportunity to provide the crew with some enhanced technical insight into the designs of both Class of trains we run on our network.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to thank the crew who came to the depot as they had years of experience in attending critical and major incidents between them and took the training incredibly seriously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were able to have some important conversations which in certain scenarios should aid their response and may contribute to the preservation of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mark Kyprianou, temporary watch manager at Basildon Fire Station, said, &#8220;Today was very good. It was great to have some practical training and we would definitely recommend this to colleagues and do something like this again. We\u2019d certainly like to come back and do further training and exercises.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The training session was facilitated by Seray Fenn, Service Delivery Manager at c2c\u2019s Shoeburyness depot.<\/p>\n<p>Seray added, \u201cWe really enjoyed hosting the crew at Shoeburyness and look forward to building on this important relationship.
