On Monday 1 September, team members from local rail operator c2c Railway were delighted to welcome back a customer who suffered a medical emergency at Stanford-le-Hope station.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

David Taylor wanted to thank c2c and Amulet colleagues in-person for helping to save his life when he suffered a medical emergency at the station back in July.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the morning of Tuesday, 29 July, David was waiting for a train on the platform at Stanford-le-Hope station when he suddenly became unwell and lost consciousness. Fortunately, c2c and Amulet colleagues, and an off-duty nurse rushed to his side, together they began performing CPR before using the station\u2019s defibrillator to resuscitate him \u2013 ultimately saving his life. He was then taken to hospital and is now recovering with the support of his family.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once in recovery and back at home, c2c staff remained in contact with David and his family, David was keen to return to the station to thank staff in person for saving his life.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

David Taylor, said: <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t put into words how grateful I am. I’d like to thank the entire c2c and Amulet team for their fast reactions that ultimately helped to save my life – I’m looking forward to getting back to work and spending time with my family.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly proud of the team at Stanford-le-Hope Station for their swift and courageous response to this incident. It was wonderful to see David and our colleagues together again in happier circumstances.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to the team\u2019s rapid action and the availability of a defibrillator at the station, David received life-saving treatment when he suffered a cardiac arrest. Their calm professionalism and decisive intervention made all the difference in a critical moment, while paramedics were called.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis response is a testament to the team\u2019s dedication to training, teamwork, and care for the public.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are also deeply mindful of the emotional and mental impact such incidents can have on staff. Support is being provided to ensure their wellbeing in the aftermath, and we remain committed to encouraging a workplace culture that prioritises mental health and resilience.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Amulet is a security contractor employed by c2c to provide specialist revenue protection and security teams along the c2c route.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following a project undertaken last year, defibrillators are now present across <\/span>all 26 c2c stations<\/span><\/a>, providing an invaluable aid for the people of the rail operator\u2019s local communities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
