{"id":327463,"date":"2025-12-04T09:00:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-04T09:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/?p=327463"},"modified":"2025-12-03T10:36:31","modified_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:36:31","slug":"c2c-sponsors-christmas-market-in-raising-funds-for-southend-in-sight-this-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.c2c-online.co.uk\/media-centre\/latest-news\/c2c-sponsors-christmas-market-in-raising-funds-for-southend-in-sight-this-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"c2c sponsors Christmas market in raising funds for Southend in Sight this Christmas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local rail operator c2c Railway is proud to once again be sponsoring the Shoebury and Thorpe Bay Christmas Market, taking place from 10:00 \u2013 16:00 on Saturday 6 December at Shoebury and Thorpe Bay Baptiste Church.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s annual event will raise money for Southend in Sight \u2013 a charity that offers practical advice and activities to those living with sight loss in Southend \u2013 with the fundraising target of \u00a31,500.<\/p>\n<p>c2c has donated \u00a3500 for the event, as well as two tickets to Southend United\u2019s fixture against Sutton United on 30 December, which will be raffled off to raise further funds for the charity.<\/p>\n<p>c2c Managing Director, Rob Mullen, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe pride ourselves for being a community railway that is dedicated to helping our local communities in whatever way we can. That is why I am so proud that we are sponsoring this event once again, as the money it raises will go to Southend in Sight and help people in our local communities.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The market features over 50 stalls and includes face painting, multiple food options and Santa\u2019s grotto, where children can meet Santa and get a pre-Christmas present! To see Santa, people are encouraged to book ahead of time, as he gets very busy at this time of year.<\/p>\n<p>Judy Hadley, Vice Chair &amp; Treasurer\u00a0of the Shoebury Residents Events Committee, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Shoebury Residents Events Committee is thrilled to share that c2c is once again sponsoring our beloved Christmas Market and Santa\u2019s Grotto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow in its fourth year, this magical event brings Christmas cheer to the whole community while raising funds for local charities through our Grotto and raffle. This year, we\u2019re proud to support Southend in Sight.
