At c2c we are investing over \u00a317m in your stations over the next three years. These projects will improve the facilities we have on offer for customers and our staff. Every station will see some improvements made. This page has all the latest details about what work we are doing and where.<\/p>\n

Projects already finished:<\/h2>\n

We rebuilt the Platform 1 ticket office and the station entrance at Upminster<\/strong> station<\/a>, which opened in December 2018<\/a>. This work improved the ticket facilities and waiting facilities for customers. A new coffee shop in the area has also now opened. You can see how the station looked before (left) and after below.<\/p>\n

Work underway:<\/h2>\n

Our teams are currently on site at both\u00a0Grays<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Ockendon<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

At Ockendon we will be renovating the station entrance and booking hall, which will make it easier and quicker for you to access the platforms and board your train. We’ll also be building a new ticket office plus upgrading your waiting facilities. At both stations we will be renovating the ticket hall to make it lighter, brighter and more comfortable.<\/p>\n

We’ll also be upgrading the ticket-selling facilities at the stations over the coming year, including new ticket machines.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere we are working with Thurrock Borough Council on their plans for the redevelopment of\u00a0Stanford-le-Hope station<\/a>. <\/strong>Work began on the\u00a0 demolition of the old ticket office<\/a> in March 2019.<\/p>\n

All three stations will remain open for business throughout the works. Thank you for bearing with us while we invest in your stations.<\/p>\n

Up next:<\/h2>\n

More stations will follow this year and next.<\/p>\n

One of our biggest projects will be the redevelopment of Barking<\/strong> station, where we have submitted a planning application for a multi-million pound scheme<\/a>. Our proposals will increase the station’s capacity, reduce existing congestion, and restore the architectural features of the only Grade-II listed 1950s railway station in London.<\/p>\n

We also plan to start work on another multi-million scheme this year to upgrade Fenchurch Street<\/strong><\/a> station. Other stations on our list are Rainham<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0Laindon<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Chafford Hundred<\/strong><\/a>. Meanwhile we will also be delivering some smaller-scale improvement schemes at other stations.<\/p>\n

More details will follow on this page as they are confirmed.<\/p>\n
